Engagement - Lynn & Kenneth

Lynn and Ken were fantastic to work with. At first they were uninterested in having engagement portraits done at all and I was so curious as to why that was - I had to know. Seems they didn't want the 'standard' engagement portrait and hence decided simply to not have these photographs done. I worked hard to convince them and we discussed for quite a while what exactly they did like, and what I could do for them. This is the result: portraits that are creative, unique, different and tastefully artful. Unfortunately it didn't rain as they had hoped but I think we still got some amazing shots!

I often laugh with Lynn and Ken about how at first they were dead-set on not having engagement portrait, yet now they're the most excited about them! And so am I! We had alot of fun and got some great results. Thanks Lynn & Ken!

Abandoned

I would like to draw a metaphor. It seems that this space has appeared abandoned for some time however with a little creativity, inspiration, and passion this blog, aswell as this abandoned building, can be revived into a new intriguing experience. I am sharing both with you - my words and these new photographs of a beautifully forgotten place.

Portrait of a Stranger

I created a portrait of someone who was a stranger to me a mere two days ago. The portrait was created in 10 minutes under a bridge during the first snowfall of the year. Kudos to my subject for keeping bright spirits during the cold winter winds. He may not have realized this, but 3 minutes after I sent him on his way a story occured: I was stopped by two transit cruisers who sped towards me and quickly swurved and stopped on the sidewalk where I was packing my gear. I was informed that I was absolutely not allowed to take photographs in this location, since it is against the population's safety. Little did I know a bomb threat was given at one of the bus terminals yesterday, and hence the situation was escalated.

I was nice, and in return these officers were nice to me. They informed me of how I should go about getting permission to use the premesis and sent me gladly on my way.

Enjoy!

Architecture - RBC

The main photograph, as seen here, was taken using a 4x5 camera and Kodak Ektachrome 100 Plus film. I love the results. The other photographs, as seen in the gallery, were taken using my DSLR. Needless to say, enjoy!

Apparatus

Dedicated to Apparatus' show in Toronto tonight..

I have been Apparatus' photographer for quite some time now, and love every minute of it. My photographs were recently featured as the album art on their debut Risen, which is a great listen. I suggest getting your hands on a copy, and support the local artist: apparatusmusic.com

Thanks Mel, Jay, Hank, and Sam!

Algonquin College - ResStock'07!

Algonquin College's Residence Survival had ResStock'07 as theme, and myself as the college's official event photographer. It was fun, and the images turned out great.

Thanks Amelia.
